I know that genetics has something to do with this, but weight gain usually works like this: calories in - (exercise + metabolism) = surplus or deficit of calories A surplus of calories will create fat A deficit of calories will cause a loss of fat Obviously that kid is getting an extreme surplus of calories, and since it's a kid, she's getting it from her parents, who feed her, who also were absent from the video clip.
